SINGULAIR is easy to take and easy to give.
How to take SINGULAIR:
For adults and children 2 years and older:
- Take SINGULAIR once a day, with or without food.
- Take SINGULAIR at any time of day (take at about the same time each day).
- Keep taking SINGULAIR for as long as your doctor tells you to take it.
Once-a-day SINGULAIR comes in 3 forms:
Tablets
- Dosage: One 10-mg tablet once a day
- Age: Adults and adolescents 15 years and older
How to take SINGULAIR: Take SINGULAIR once a day in the morning or the evening, with or without food.
Cherry chewable tablets
- Dosage: One 5-mg cherry chewable tablet once a day
- Age: Children 6 to 14 years
- Dosage: One 4-mg cherry chewable tablet once a day
- Age: Children 2 to 5 years
How to take SINGULAIR: Take SINGULAIR once a day in the morning or the evening, with or without food.
(Phenylketonurics: Note that cherry chewable tablets contain phenylalanine [a component of aspartame].)
Oral granules
- Dosage: One packet of 4-mg oral granules once a day
- Age: Children 2 to 5 years

How to give SINGULAIR oral granules:
- Open packet when ready to use.
- Sprinkle the granules directly into your child’s mouth.
- Pour the entire packet of granules onto an empty spoon.
- Mix the entire packet of granules with a spoonful of cold or room-temperature applesauce, mashed carrots, rice, or ice cream.
- Be sure to feed the entire spoonful of oral granules to your child right away (within 15 minutes).

SINGULAIR® (montelukast sodium) is a prescription medicine approved to help control asthma in adults and children as young as 12 months and to help relieve the symptoms of indoor and outdoor allergies (outdoor allergies in adults and children as young as 2 years, and indoor allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months).
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
SINGULAIR should be taken once a day, as prescribed. SINGULAIR is available by prescription only.
Side effects are generally mild and vary by age, and may include headache, ear infection, sore throat, and upper respiratory infection. Side effects generally did not stop patients from taking SINGULAIR. SINGULAIR should not be taken by people who are sensitive to any of its ingredients.
